In ancient mythology the Orange tree symbolises loyalty, friendship and generosity.
This gorgeous evergreen tree has soft, lush leaves all year and delicate, white flowers which blossom with the sweetest scent! The bright orange fruits ripen over several months and are wonderful for squeezing over fresh fish, making an orange liquor or a delicious marmalade.
Your Orange tree will arrive growing in its own compostable pot and will grow in it for the next few weeks. The compost has added nutrients to ensure your tree continues to thrive, this organic goodness will gradually release into the soil over the next few months. All your tree needs from you is natural daylight and water - when the top soil is dry. Just find it a new home, a sunny windowsill or a cool conservatory is perfect.
In a few weeks, plant your Orange tree, still in its compostable pot so the roots are not disturbed, in a large flower pot (one with holes so excess water can drain away). Your Orange tree will thrive in a bright, cool room, conservatory or greenhouse all year.
This Orange tree is 40-50cm high. It will enjoy being lightly pruned in early spring and may reach a height of 2 metres in 10 years, if allowed to grow naturally.
